Piece commissioned by Bristol's forthcoming new city museum, M Shed.
The commission was to produce a piece based on one of 13 different events in Bristol's past where the people of Bristol have stood up and challenged the status quo. I chose the St Paul's riots of 1980 as it is a period in the UK that interests me.
The piece is almost entirely composed from cultural material from the period just before the riots, sources such as Vogue, NME and Look In magazine.
